RCMP

The detachment polices the Town of Stettler with a population of ~6,000. Policing services are also provided to the County of Stettler, including Erskine, Nevis, Byemoor, Red Willow, Big Valley, Botha, Gadsby, and the Summer Villages of Rochon Sands and White Sands. The rural population policed by Stettler detachment is also roughly 6,000 people. 

The detachment establishment consists of a Sergeant Detachment Commander, two Corporal Supervisors, and eight Constables.  Supporting these officers are three clerks (one being a Public Servant, and two being Municipal Employees).  In addition, the detachments hosts the offices of three officers who are attached to Red Deer Traffic Services and the office for Heartland Victim Services who are composed of the coordinator & twelve volunteers.

The Town of Stettler contracts with the the Government of Canada for eight RCMP members (including one SRO) to perform municipal policing duties. The Province of Alberta supplies three police officers to police the rural areas.

In addition, a full time Community Resource Officer has been established to work full time in the schools. This position is funded by a 3 way partnership between the Town of Stettler, the County of Stettler, and the Clearview School Division.  

The strategic goal of Stettler RCMP is to provide "Safe Homes & Safe Communities".
