As of May 24th, 2022, work on the 53rd Street Water Main Replacement has commenced. Throughout the dual phase construction process, the cast iron water main and lead water services on 53rd Street between 48th – 51st Avenues will be replaced.
Throughout summer 2022, the final phase of the 44th Avenue Rehabilitation project will be completed. This rehabilitation project has consisted of three phases to improve the entire roadway, which started in 2020. The final stretch of this project will see the existing asphalt on 44th Avenue removed from 40 Street to 50 Street. In addition to the new asphalt surface, this stretch of road will also see drainage improvements and culvert replacements for back graded or deteriorated culverts.
The road will be open to traffic during this construction; however, partial lane closures and delays can be expected.
No major disruptions will be experienced by drivers throughout this replacement process; adjacent homeowners have been contacted directly. Please slow down for crews at work!
