Assistant CAO Steven Gerlitz Retires After 10 Years with the Town
The Town of Stettler wishes Steven Gerlitz the best on his retirement as he steps down from the role of Assistant CAO. Assistant CAO Gerlitz’s retirement follows ten (10) years with the Town of Stettler and a thirty-five (35) year career in municipal government.
Steven was born and raised in Stettler, returning to his hometown after working with the Counties of Camrose, Paintearth, and Stettler.
Says Mayor Sean Nolls,
“From the moment Steve started with the Town, his impact was felt - whether it was his approach to making our budgets easy to understand, his commitment to keeping Council and the public informed, or his infinite knowledge of all things numbers. When he speaks, people tend to listen because his words are often wise or humorous, if not both. Steve is an adamant professional, but working with him was like working with family. Myself, Council, and the entire organization will miss working with our friend.”
Reflecting on his time with the Town of Stettler, Assistant CAO Steven Gerlitz says,
“I appreciate the very special opportunity I had with the Town of Stettler to finish my career in municipal government and to be a part of this great team. I'll never forget the experiences I had working here and to watch the town, my home, grow. I’m going to miss it a lot. “
Former Town of Stettler Manager of Financial Services Kim Hymers has assumed the role of Assistant CAO, and looks forward to a bright future with the organization.
